SHEBOYGAN, WI (WHBL) - The City of Sheboygan and the Harbor Center Business Improvement District are working together to create a strategic plan regarding the future of the downtown area. On Sheboygan’s Morning News Wednesday, Mayor Mike Vandersteen said their efforts right now focus on gathering input from the public.
One way they will do this is with an open house event September 17 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the John Michael Kohler Art Center. The meeting will include discussion on downtown trends and how to redevelope the mix of businesses in that area.
In addition, Vandersteen said they will offer surveys that can be filled out at the Mead Public Library and online at the city’s website. He hopes people will provide their feedback on how they can increase revitalization of the Riverfront, the South Pier, and downtown 8th Street.
