RANDOM LAKE, WI (WHBL) - The Random Lake School District is recovering from a recent theft of hundreds of IPads and other tablets allegedly by a district employee. Last Friday the district informed the Sheboygan County Sheriff’s Department of the theft, which involved more than 500 items worth around 180-thousand dollars
Superintendent Tom Malmstadt said the tablets are part of the district’s educational environment - used in teaching typing, research, and specific applications for helping students gain important skills and knowledge. Malmstadt said his focus now is to get the tablets back into students’ hands as soon as possible. Some tablets will be handed out today, while it may be as late as the middle of next week until all students have their tablets back.
The alleged suspect has not been charged yet as an investigation is continuing.
