SHEBOYGAN, Wis. (WHBL) - The Sheboygan Salvation Army is asking that you mark the date of December 12th and make it special by putting 12 dollars in the Salvation Army kettles rather than the usual donation. Lieutenant Daryl Mangeri suggests instead of spending 12 dollars on lunch, you could feed a family of four for two days, or shelter a homeless person for an evening, or cover a quarter of the cost for new glasses. Mangeri says Miesfeld’s Meat Market has promised to match up to $2,000 of the collection on the 12th. The Salvation Army’s Christmas goal is $540,000 and, so far, only $107,000 has been collected. This year, money from the kettles helped over 5,400 families.
