SHEBOYGAN, WI (WHBL) - Sheboygan state delegation is working to keep the expansion of Highway 23 on schedule. Senator Joe Leibham, on Sheboygan’s Morning News Tuesday, said he was taken by surprise last month when the DOT announced the project was being delayed again. He said that he worked with Governor Scott Walker to make sure language at the state level would keep the project from being delayed, but that changed last month.
The project was originally scheduled to be done in 2009 but was delayed until 2015 and now delayed again until 2018. Leibham said he should get an update on where the project stands either later this week or next week. He is still committed to have the project back under construction by this time next year, or by early 2015 at the latest.
