
SHEBOYGAN, WI (WHBL) - July was a good month for unemployment numbers both locally and in the state.
According to the Wisconsin Department of Workforce Development’s monthly release of figures, the Sheboygan metro area and Sheboygan County saw their unemployment rates drop 0.4-percent to six-percent. The City of Sheboygan also saw its rate drop 0.7-percent to 7.3. This occured despite a drop in employed workers in the Sheboygan metro area of 700 from June.
For the state of Wisconsin, the unemployment rate for July stayed unchanged at 6.8 while the number of jobs grew last month at a preliminary count of 1,500.
