SHEBOYGAN, WI (WHBL) - Members of the Sheboygan Fire Department will be taking time when off duty the next three days to raise funds for the Muscular Dystrophy Association. Lieutenant Dlaine Werner said they will be at three locations; the intersection of North 25th and Superior today from 2 to 6, the intersection of North 15th and North Avenue tomorrow from 2 to 6, and south Wal-Mart on Saturday from 10 to 4. All people will need to do is drive to these locations, stop by the firefighters and drop off their donation into the fire boot they will have with them.
Dlaine said all the money raised will help area families dealing with neuromuscular diseases. Some of these include funding for kids to go to a week long camp, help families pay for medical bills, and provide funds for research.
Last year this fundraiser collected over $12,000, and has raised over $42,000 since 2009. They have set a goal of raising at least $11,000 during this year’s event.
