FOND DU LAC, WI (WHBL) - A 53-year-old Fond Du Lac woman was killed in a two-car head-on collision on Highway 23 in eastern Fond du Lac County Wednesday morning.

Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Captain Rick Olig says a 51-year-old Plymouth woman was heading west on Highway 23, pulled out and passed a number of cars near Seven Hills Road.  The Fond Du Lac woman, driving east on Highway 23, had to pull onto the shoulder to avoid a collision, which caused her to lose control of her car.  This led it to strike a vehicle heading westbound head-on, ejecting her.  She was pronounced dead at the scene.  The driver of the west bound vehicle, a 41-year old male from St. Cloud, was not hurt in the accident.

The woman whose erratic driving caused the accident was pulled over near Waupun and was taken into custody for homicide by negligent operation of a motor vehicle. Olig said she had just moved from Texas and was on her way to work in Beaver Dam.  He says witnesses report she was passing vehicles both before and after the fatal accident.
