SHEBOYGAN, WI (WHBL) - A couple of Sheboygan streets will be the testing ground for new LED streetlights. Alliant Energy says it is replacing about 40 streetlights on Washington and Wilson Avenues over the next few weeks with new LED lights as part of a pilot project to test their performance. Laura Gumm of Alliant said they will monitor energy usage as well as the quality of lighting to see how they work under everyday traffic and weather conditions. Gumm said the LED light is whiter, more defined, and sharper and can be directed more on the street, allowing people to see details and colors better.
