PLYMOUTH, WI (WHBL) - The Plymouth School District is preparing to say goodbye to their superintendent. Dr. Clark Reinke is retiring at the end of this school year after 13 years leading the district and 39 years in education.

In an interview with WHBL, Reinke reminised about his many years in education. Prior to Plymouth, Reinke worked in districts in Kansas as a teacher, principal and assistant superintendent.  He says he had a desire to come back to Wisconsin, paticularly working north of his childhood home in southern Wisconsin.  So when the Plymouth job opened up in 2000, he applied and was fortunate to get the position and has enjoyed his years here.

When asked about what he is most proud of in the district, Reinke said that would be the creation of a professional culture of learning in the district.  This allows teachers the support to develop and grow; and improve their ability to educate students.  Reinke is also proud of the administration team currently in place in the district and partnerships with businesses and higher education to increase student class offerings.

A special recognition reception for Reinke will be held today at the Riverview Middle School cafeteria from 3 to 5:30.
