SHEBOYGAN, WI (WHBL) - The Sheboygan Police Department is ready to hold a bicycle rodeo this Saturday. Two locations will hold the free event this year; the Evangelical Free Church from 8 to 11 a.m., and St. Peter Clavier Church from 12 to 3 p.m. The event is designed for kids ages 6 to 14.
Captain Stephen Cobb says the event will help kids, and adults who bring them, learn proper procedures when bicycling on area roadways such as crossing the street and navigating an intersection. Other topics to be addressed include bike licensing with the city and where trick riding can be performed.
Attendees are asked to bring a helmet with their bicycle, but the department will hand out helmets to those who do not have one as supplies allow.
