SHEBOYGAN, WI (WHBL) - A Sheboygan man faces numerous charges for allegedly assaulting his wife.
54-year-old Cha Lee faces one count each of substantial battery, intimidating a victim and suffocation.
According to the criminal complaint, police were called to the the 2100 block of North 12th Street for a report of a woman screaming. When officers arrived they found the victim and her son inside a car. The woman had severe head trauma, and had to be taken to the hospital.
The man told police that Lee told him to come to the house because a fight had gone badly. When he arrived at the house, he told police that he found his mother severely beaten, and quickly took her from the scene. Emergency crews treated her at the scene, and she was then taken to Froedtert for facial reconstruction and additional treatment.
Police took Lee into custody, and he allegedly admitted to the assault, and claimed it was because his wife would not sleep with him that night. He also allegedly told officers he'd take whatever punishment is handed to him.
Lee remains in jail on a $15,000 cash bond, and he'll be back in court next week for a preliminary hearing.
