SHEBOYGAN, WI (WHBL) - A Sheboygan man faces extradition on an out of state warrant following his arrest last week.
38 year old Nathaniel Schirmer is charged with battery and intimidation as domestic abuse.
According to the criminal complaint, police were called to a home on the 2700 block of North 10th Street on September 9th for a report of a disturbance. The victim in the case had already been taken to the hospital with injuries.
Police say the victim explained that her husband had woken up late for work early that morning and started arguing with her about it. He allegedly then assaulted her and struck her in the head. Police say the victim tried to call 911 but that Schirmer allegedly hung up the phone on her, and then forced her to lie to officers who arrived to follow up. She was able to sneak away from the house, and made it to the sheriff's department to fully report what happened.
When police arived at the home to question Schirmer, he told officers that his wife was supposed to wake him up early or his first day at his new job, but that she didn't do so. He also denied hitting her.
Schirmer was taken into custody, and when police checked his records they found an outstanding warrant from Missouri that accused him of absconding from his probation on felony drug charges. He's now being held on a $10,000 cash bond, and is scheduled for an extradition hearing next month.
