SHEBOYGAN, WI (WHBL) - A Texas man is under arrest in Sheboygan after violating a restraining order.

31-year-old Daniel Hardman faces charges of violating a domestic abuse injunction and a restraining order.

According to the criminal complaint, an investigation started back in May after the victim in the case contacted police and said that Hardman had called her place of business and left a message that she'd been smoking pot and wouldn't pass a drug test. The message was left the same day that Hardman was served notice of the restraining order.

Police say that the victim once again contacted them in June, after Hardman allegedly left numerous text messages, voicemails, and Instagram messages, most of which claimed that he loved her and misses her. When police contacted him about the messages, the said told them he wasn't violating the order because he was still in Texas. Police say they reminded him the order extends to social media and other forms of contact as well.

Dispatchers were called once again on August 23rd by the victim who said that Hardman had traveled all the way from Texas to Sheboygan and that she was following him in her car. She told police she'd spotted him outside her apartment after she got back from a trip to Texas. Police eventually took Hardman into custody.

Hardman remains in custody on a $2,500 cash bond. He'll be back in court in October for more court appearances.
