SHEBOYGAN, WI (WHBL) - A Glenbeulah man is under arrest for allegedly attacking his ex's boyfriend.

19-year-old Trevor Rebedew faces a felony charge of child assault in the case.

According to a criminal complaint, the 16-year-old victim reported the assault to a deputy the morning of August 16th. The victim told deputies he'd been assaulted and choked by Rebedew that morning. According the victim, he was watching TV that morning with her when Rebedew barged into her home. He says Rebedew put him into a headlock and dragged him away from the couch, screaming at him to get out of the house. He managed to escape and ran for help from the deputy. He also told the deputy he was scared for his girlfriend because she was still there with Rebedew.

When deputies arived at the home, the girlfriend told them that Rebedew had just run out the back door to escape. She then confirmed the victim's story, and said that Rebedew had come into the house looking for a fight. Later that day, deputies got another message from the girlfriend, who said Rebedew had sent her a photo of himself with a hunting rifle on a tripod.

Deputies caught up with Rebedew the next day and took him in for an interview. Officers say he admitted to being at the girlfriend's house, and that he'd grabbed the victim by the shirt and tried to walk him out of the home. He denied putting the victim into a headlock, and told deputies he ran away because he was angry at his ex and wanted to cool off. He also told deputies he'd been considering suicide over the breakup.

Rebedew is back in court today for a preliminary hearing. He remains in custody on a $500 cash bond.
