SHEBOYGAN, WI (WHBL) - A Sheboygan man accused in a hit and run and burglary case now faces formal charges.
22-year-old Brandon Ball faces charges of fleeing police, possession of amphetamines, burglary, theft, and obstruction
According to the criminal complaint, police got a call around 9:30pm Thursday night of a hit and run on Union Avenue and South Business Drive. Police were able to spot the suspect vehicle when they arrived, but the driver fled the scene before officers could perform a traffic stop. Officers soon found the car parked in a nearby driveway and two people got out and ran away. Police say Ball broke into a nearby garage and stole a bike to get away.
Officers identified Ball through an investigation, and got a search warrant for a north side home. Officers entered the home, and found Ball asleep on a bed. They say they also found some marijuana and a pipe that was freshly used. Officers took Ball into custody, but while in route to the jail, he allegedly started fighting with police, and eventually had to be brought into custody in the police van.
Ball remains in custody, and will be back in court next week for a preliminary hearing.
