Suspect Named In Police Shooting

SHEBOYGAN, Wis. (WHBL) - More information has been released about the suspect and the officers involved in Sunday night's officer involved shooting in Sheboygan.

The Critical Incident Regional Response Team headed by Winnebago County Captain David Mack says that the man killed in the shootout with officers was 39-year-old Kevin Higgins of Glenbeulah.

Officials say he staged an armed robbery at the Union Avenue Tap on Sunday night, and two officers shot and killed him at the scene. They've been identified as 32-year-old Officer Brandon Kehoe and 33-year-old Anthony Hamilton.

Police say Kehoe and Hamilton are now on administrative leave.

A patron inside the bar was injured in the incident, but police have not said if he was shot by officers or by the suspect. He remains in stable condtion at Froedert Hospital.

Winnebago County officials say they're hoping to complete the primary investigation in this case this week and turn it over to the Sheboygan County DA's office for review.
