WASHINGTON, DC. (WHBL-KFIZ) -- One Wisconsin congressman says the country needs to work once again on race relations.

Congressman Glenn Grothman feels race relations in the country are at a 50-year low. "I think that's almost hard to believe. We've had civil rights legislation in the 60's which was far reaching. We've had Affirmative Action in this country for over 50 years now." He says protests, police shootings, and police being shot are not helping the situation.

He says President Obama supports the Black Lives Matter movement, but that seems to be inciting more. On the other hand he feels law enforcement officers are at fault for some of the shootings that have provoked violence. "I think that something should be done by these police departments to dial down the temperature. I think some police are trained to shoot people too quickly."
