FOND DU LAC, Wis. (WHBL-KFIZ) -- Fond du Lac Police are investigating an explosion and fire late Saturday night.
Police Captain Jason Laridaen says neighbors reported hearing a boom at 11:47 p.m. Firefighters put out a small fire in the home. No one was injured and no one was home when police arrived.
Captain Laridaen says they are still looking for people. A witness reported seeing two people, a man and a woman, running from the scene. Police checked with area hospitals to see if anyone came in to be treated for burn injuries. But hospitals in Fond du Lac, Ripon, Oshkosh, Waupun, and Sheboygan had no such reports when police initially checked.
The incident remains under investigation.
