SHEBOYGAN, WI (WHBL) - The Sheboygan County Board last night went on record supporting the towns of Sherman and Holland in their efforts to have the Public Service Commission establish benchmarks for low frequency noise from wind turbines. There is currently an application pending for a wind farm in the town of Sherman which would connect to a substation in the town of Holland. Supervisor Bill Goehring, who is also Chairman in the town of Sherman, requested the action saying he felt county support would help the town efforts. There is substantial opposition to the farm and the towns want the PSC to establish an emergency rule allowing them to reject the application until those benchmarks are established. Right now, approval of the project is pretty much in the hands of the PSC.
