SHEBOYGAN, Wis. (WHBL) -- Road crews continue their work on the intersection at Highway 28 and I-43 in Sheboygan.
Department of Transportation Spokesman Mark Kantola says detours through the area are posted because of a ramp closure. "The I-43 southbound off ramp to WIS 28/Washington Avenue is still closed, it's closed and detoured. That should still be in place until the middle of June." Crews will be cycling which on ramps and off ramps are closed throughout the project and only one of them will be closed at a time. There's also local detours in the area as city crews work on Taylor Drive as well.
Crews are on schedule despite the wet weather, and got new storm sewer laid out over the last week. They'll be moving to crushing up the surface of the roadbed to create new gravel grading for the intersection this week.
As always, Kantola reminds drivers to slow down and respect the crews doing the work on the roads, and give other drivers room to get around safely.
