ADELL, Wis. (WHBL) -- An Adell man is under arrest and charged with fighting with a deputy.
51-year-old John Rom was charged on Friday with one count of injuring an officer.
According to a criminal complaint, a deputy was called out to Rom's home last week to serve papers from St. Nicolaus Hospital. The deputy was also aware that there was an active warrant out for Rom's arrest from Washington County. Rom told the deputy that he wasn't going to have anything to do with the hospital, and that there couldn't be a warrant because he hasn't been to Washington County.
The deputy tried to take Rom into custody, and Rom started to fight with the deputy, repeatedly fighting out of the deputy's grip and trying to take his radio. The deputy was forced to use both a taser and his baton to try and stop Rom from fighting. Afterwards, the deputy reported multiple injuries, including lacerations and bruises.
Rom is being held on a $5,000 cash bond, and will be back in court today for an adjourned initial appearance.
