SHEBOYGAN, WI (WHBL) Sheboygan's city council has unanimously chosen to hire Grafton's village administrator.

Darryl Hofland has served as Grafton's administrator since 1990, and his experience with the area was one of the things that drew the council to him in the first place. Common Council president Don Hammond told the board that his knowledge of city finances and Tax Incremental Districts is something that the city can use going forward.

Hofland will be entering the position with a $135,000 salary and a $5,000 signing bonus. That's more than what outgoing administrator Jim Amodeo is currently making. Hofland was one of two candidates that was selected by the city's Civil Service Committee last month. He won out in the selection process over McFarland village administrator Eric Rindfleisch.

Hofland must now give 45 days notice to Grafton before leaving his position there, and Amodeo has agreed to stay on long enough for that transition to take place. He had originally been planning to step down at the start of April.
