SHEBOYGAN, WI (WHBL) - A Sheboygan man who served one year in the local jail for a series of break-ins to vehicles and garages in 2009 will now be serving additional time behind bars after his probation was revoked.
25-year-old Scott Popovich Junior was serving three years on probation, but it was revoked back in September and Judge Rebecca Persick sentenced him to two years in state prison and two years extended supervision.
The probation was for eight of 34 charges, to which he pleaded no contest, for his illegal actions in the county between May and June of 2009.
The criminal complaint stated the Sheboygan County Sheriff’s Department was investigating a suspicious vehicle in the Town of Sheboygan on June 16, 2009.
While investigating a person who fled the scene, several purses were found that were stolen from a home in the nearby area.
Popovich was named a suspect and, once in custody, he admitted to investigators he had entered vehicles and garages to steal items over the past weeks.
