SHEBOYGAN, Wis. (WHBL) -- Two major Sheboygan County projects are set to get more funding for completion.
The County's finance committee voted Wednesday to move forward with funding for the county's combined dispatch project, and for another phase of the remodel of the Health and Human Services Building.
The combined dispatch center is continuing its series of improvements. Sheboygan County finance director Wendy Charnon says the newly authorized $1.8 million dollars will ensure that all of the county can use the new system. "The main base system is scheduled to be implemented mid-year, March or June of this year. And the Subscriber Radios are the radios that all the other agencies will be utilizing to use the main system." The radios have already been ordered but not paid for at this time. The funding is coming out of the county's Undesignated Fund Balance.
Charnon says the $118,000 that was approved for the remodel of the Health and Human Services Building is part of the phased nature of the project. "The Health and Human Services building was phased into three phases, and this was anticipated, this is just following through on finishing the funding for it." That funding is already part of the budget for the department and will not impact the city's fund balance.
Both of the measures now head to the county's full board meeting on March 15th.
