SHEBOYGAN, WI (WHBL) - A Town of Plymouth man recently got a harsher sentence after violating a probation sentenced given to him for illegal use of a credit card back in 2014.

25-year-old Mitch Saunders will now spend one year in a state prison, followed by two years extended supervision, after Judge James Bolgert revoked a two year probation sentence last month.

The probation sentence was given last year after Saunders pleaded no contest to a charge of fraudulent use of a credit card that totaled over ten-thousand dollars.

The criminal complaint for the charge states the Sheboygan County Sheriff’s Department was called to a Town of Mitchell residence where the owner of the credit card noticed it was used for purchases between February and September of 2014 that he did not give permission for.

An investigation connected Saunders as a suspect, and when interviewed he admitted to the crime.  He reportedly said he was let go from a job at the Town of Mitchell residence, but when he realized he still had a credit card that he was allowed to use for gas and approved purchases, he began to use it to cover purchases he made.
