GREENBUSH, WI (WHBL) - There may not be enough snow to enjoy it fully, but local residents can learn more about an activity Saturday that allows some dogs to enjoy the snow along with their human companions.

The event will be a one-hour program by the Door County Sled Dogs, starting at 10 a.m. at the Wade House.

“Where they will talk about Door County Sled Dogs as an organization, rescue dogs, all of their dogs are rescues, and how they train them to be sled dogs," says Jim Willaert, Wade House's Curator of Interpretation.

The event does include a chance for people to register and pay for actual sled dog rides on the historical site's grounds, but that will not be held if there is not enough snow to do so.

Still, Willaert says it's great to have back a group that was well received last year.  “It was a very, very busy day.  Folks spent a lot of time interacting with the dogs, petting them, taking pictures with them; just a good time getting to know the dogs and seeing the whole way a sled dog operation works.”

Cost is five dollars to attend the program, and that will allow free access to the rest of the Wade House museum.
