Deferred Prosecution for "Middle Men" in Bank Account Theft

SHEBOYGAN, WI (WHBL) - Two South Dakota men were given deferred prosecutions last week in connection to a theft of money from a Plymouth auto dealership’s bank account last July.

Judge James Bolgert allowed 55 year old Jerry Kress and 75 year old John Kress to have the chance to have a count each of theft of movable property removed from their records if they avoid criminal trouble over the next three years.

The charges, plus other theft charges that were dismissed, came about back in December after the Sheboygan County Sheriff’s Department investigated a theft of over 25-thousand dollars taken from a bank account from the Van Horn Group.

Investigators determined Jerry and John worked as middle men, who were given cash taken from the account by others, and then were told to send most of it to Nigeria while allowed to keep some to help their own financial needs.
