SHEBOYGAN, WI (WHBL) - A Manitowoc man will spend 90 days behind bars in connection to injuries given to his then girlfriend while driving on I-43 in Sheboygan County last October.
Judge Angela Sutkiewicz sentenced 22 year old Dominick Demitro this week to the jail time, plus two years probation, after he pleaded no contest to charges of battery, criminal damage to property, and bail jumping.
The three charges, plus a disorderly conduct charge that was dismissed, were the result of an argument between Demitro and his girlfriend.
According to the criminal complaint, the girlfriend told the Sheboygan County Sheriff’s Department the two of them got into a verbal argument as they were traveling south on the interstate from Manitowoc.
At one point after she tried to drown out Demitro’s voice by turning on the radio. He reportedly struck her in the face, and struck the radio. The girlfriend made her way to Sheboygan Police, where Demitro reportedly threatened her life.
When interviewed, Demitro reportedly said he remembers hitting the radio but not his girlfriend.
