SHEBOYGAN COUNTY, WI (WHBL) - The Sheboygan County area saw its job numbers, and its unemployment rates, increase as 2015 came to an end.
Preliminary figures from the Department of Workforce Development this week show the Sheboygan metro area grew its seasonally adjusted job force by five-hundred people in December, when compared to November. Also, last month’s jobs number was up 14-hundred people compared to one year ago.
However, the unemployment rates in our area also grew. The City of Sheboygan’s rate was up two-tenths of a percent to 3.8-percent, while Sheboygan County’s rate grew one-tenth of a percent to 3.4-percent.
Across Wisconsin, most counties, major cities, and metro areas did see an increase in their unemployment rates from November to December. The good news is unemployment rates are lower than where they were one year ago.
