SHEBOYGAN, WI (WHBL) - A Sheboygan man was given a sentence of 60 days jail and two years probation for entering a home, stealing items, and taking a vehicle without the owner’s consent.

Judge James Bolgert sentenced 26 year old Felton Canon last week after he pleaded no contest to one count each of burglary and operating a vehicle without the owner’s consent charges.  A second count of burglary was dismissed as part of a plea deal.

According to the criminal complaint, Sheboygan Police were informed back in October that Canon might have been the person responsible for taking items such as televisions, a diamond engagement ring, and approximately 200 DVDs out of a home on South Eighth Street and leaving it outside.

When interviewed, Canon reportedly told investigators he was one of two people who entered the home to take a vehicle to use to travel to Milwaukee.  He then went back to the home to retrieve a backpack he left there.  When he couldn’t find it, he reportedly started taking the items out of the home until he got his stuff.

The second person charged for the crimes, Cameron Frei, has a plea hearing scheduled for next week.
