SHEBOYGAN, WI (WHBL) - A bad decision on his wedding day will cost a Sheboygan Falls man 60 days in the local jail for committing his third OWI offense.
Judge James Bolgert sentenced 35 year old Randy Markwardt Jr. this week to the jail time, ordered his license revoked for 24 months and ordered him to use an ignition interlock for the same amount of time.
The OWI charge came as the result of a traffic stop by a Sheboygan County Sheriff’s deputy on October 25, when they noticed a vehicle speeding around the intersection of highways 57 and 28.
The people inside the vehicle told the deputy they had just gotten married that day, and they were planning to have a designated driver take them to a Plymouth hotel. However, Markwardt made the decision that he would drive the two of them back to their home in the Town of Wilson.
Field sobriety tests and a preliminary blood alcohol level of point-15 led to his arrest and charge.
