SHEBOYGAN, WI (WHBL) - A Sheboygan man involved in a large fight between two groups back in October that was suspected of being gang related got the toughest sentence of the four charged.
Last week Judge Angela Sutkiewicz ordered 20 year old Elias Luna to spend three years in state prison, followed by three years extended supervision. The sentence came after he pleaded no contest to a charge of physical abuse of a child.
Luna was one of four people charged for their actions during a confrontation between a group of Hispanics and a group of blacks on Indiana Avenue October 8. The criminal complaint stated Luna struck a teenage girl with a metal broom stick, the worst injury reported.
Also part of the sentence for Luna is for him not to consume alcohol or illegal drugs, no access to taverns that sell alcohol, no association with gang members, no wearing of gang colors, and no flashing of gang signs.
The other three people charged for their role in the fight have been sentenced to shorter times in the local jail. Christopher Amador will serve four months in jail, Tavirl Ringel will serve 30 days in jail, and Juan Valadez was given three days in jail.
