Sheboygan, WI (WHBL) - Its madness and mayhem. Just read on.
One of the first things Sheboygan police noticed when they responded to a 911 call at a home on S. 14th Street Wednesday, was a Christmas tree lying on the floor that had been knocked over, and broken glass scattered all over the living room floor. Also blood was observed on multiple walls.
The boyfriend of 34-year-old Kathleen E Williams told police that she stabbed him five times, which led to the 911 call.
According to a criminal complaint filed in Sheboygan County court, both the boyfriend and Kathleen had been drinking heavily that night. At some point, the boyfriend alleges that Kathleen began trying to stab herself. He claims that he was attacked after he tried to stop Kathleen from harming herself.
But, Kathleen’s son, who lives in the home, says that he heard the commotion and gave police a different account of what led to the stabbing. He says that he heard Erin (the boyfriend), state something to the effect of “Yeah, I hit you!” That prompted the son to run downstairs to his mother’s aid. He took a belt with him for self-defense, just in case.
The son further told police that Kathleen and Erin were both throwing punches by the time he got downstairs. He also says that he did not witness his mother attempting to stab herself, but he did see his mother holding a knife in the air, pointed at Erin. He then directed police to a bloody knife that was in a drying rack, atop a kitchen counter.
Officers were able to speak with Erin while he was in the back of an ambulance, being treated for his wounds. He told them that the two had been arguing but could not recall what they were arguing about before things turned violent. He says at some point they began throwing things, including a glass lamp. Then, Erin says he went to hug Kathleen in an effort to stop her from stabbing herself, and that is when he was stabbed multiple times.
In fact, Erin received many more than five stab wounds. An officer observed cuts to Erin’s neck, on the back of his head, six cuts on his chest, a cut on his right ring finger, and a cut on the top of his left shoulder.
When police questioned Kathleen and asked if she stabbed her boyfriend, she responded, “Probably” because he “Pissed her off.”
A responding officer also quotes Kathleen as saying, “She believes any man that spoke harshly to her or made her upset deserves to be stabbed.”
But, Kathleen did not indicate what would have provoked her to spit on the officer’s uniform after she was escorted to his squad car.
Kathleen is charged with one count of second-degree reckless endangerment, and throwing or discharging bodily fluids at a public safety worker. If convicted of the combined charges, she could face nearly 15 years in prison.
