SHEBOYGAN, WI (WHBL) - A Sheboygan man will have to spend four months in the local jail after a jury found him guilty of prostitution.
Judge L. Edward Stengel sentenced 32 year old Virgil Sykes to the jail time and one year probation last week. It came on the same day a jury found him guilty of a prostitution misdemeanor following a one-day trial.
According to the criminal complaint, Sheboygan Police were called to the Super 8 Motel in May for possible suspicious behavior in one of their rooms. An investigation found Sykes and Christie Lipscomb inside the room, along with evidence that showed sexual acts might have been performed there.
Sykes did not admit to any wrongdoing, but Lipscomb admitted that she had been a prostitute for about a month, and had been in the room the past few days performing sexual acts for men for cash.
Lipscomb was sentenced in September to just one year probation.
