SHEBOYGAN, WI (WHBL)  - We don’t know her full story, but what we do know is 32 year old Amber Rupp of Sheboygan is facing a felony retail theft charge for allegedly trying to steal items from Kohl’s in Sheboygan.

In the criminal complaint filed against her, Sheboygan Police were called to the store Friday, October 23, 2015 for a reported retail theft incident.

When officers arrived, they first talked with the store’s Loss Prevention Officer.  She said she found Rupp allegedly trying to push a cart full of merchandise out of the store into the general walkway of Memorial Mall.  Rupp was stopped and taken to the Loss Prevention office until police arrived.

Rupp is accused of trying to take six items of clothing valued at over $510.

When interviewed, Rupp reportedly admitted to wanting to take the items without paying for them.  She said she was going through a tough time after recently quitting her job to take care of her son.

She now faces up to three and a half year in prison if found guilty of the theft charge.
