
SHEBOYGAN COUNTY, WI (WHBL) - The Department of Public Instruction has finalized what each public school district in the state will get in aid from Madison.
For the ten districts that are part of the main WHBL listening area, five will see aid increase and the other five will see a decrease.
The biggest increase, money-wise and percentage-wise, will be seen in the Sheboygan Area School District. Aid is increasing by over three-point-five million dollars, up over five percent from last year.
Increases will also occur in Cedar Grove-Belgium, Howards Grove, Plymouth, and Random Lake.
As for decreases, Sheboygan Falls will see the biggest dollar amount of over 592-thousand. Percentage-wise, both Elkhart Lake-Glenbeulah and Kohler will see drops of over 15-percent, typical for smaller school districts statewide.
Also with aid declines are Kiel and Oostburg.
These aid numbers are subject to change regarding voucher students and aid transfers from public to private schools.
STATE AID CHANGES AT AREA SCHOOL DISTRICTS:
Cedar Grove-Belgium: up 1.73-percent, an increase of just under $100,000
Elkhart Lake-Glenbeulah: down 15.06-percent, a decrease of around $72,500
Howards Grove: up 0.39-percent, an increase of nearly $19,000
Kiel: down 2.51-percent, a decrease of nearly $187,000
Kohler: down 15.06-percent, a decrease of over $49,000
Oostburg: down 4.09-percent, a decrease of nearly $219,000
Plymouth: up 2.66-percent, an increase of nearly $279,000
Random Lake: up 3.69-percent, an increase of over $153,000
Sheboygan: up 5.17-percent, an increase of over $3,500,000
Sheboygan Falls: down 6-percent, a decrease of over $592,000
