SHEBOYGAN, WI (WHBL) - For the second time in recent days, a Sheboygan County resident will have to serve time behind bars for violating a previous sentence.

Judge Rebecca Persick ordered 27 year old Travis Schmitt to serve 183 days in the local jail in connection to charges for theft and marijuana use last year.

The criminal complaint for the charges states law enforcement was called to investigate the theft of items from a home on Park Street in Plymouth in July of 2014.

Some of the items were found sold to local businesses by Schmitt.  This led officials to search his Plymouth home, where other items were found, plus evidence suspecting marijuana use.

Former Judge Terrence Bourke gave Schmitt a two year supervision term last November, meaning he could avoid jail and probation time if he stayed out of trouble.  However, Schmitt was charged back in June for theft in Milwaukee County.  This forced Judge Persick to revoke the previous sentence, and sentenced Schmitt to the six month of jail time.
