Sheboygan,WI (WHBL) -If you are old enough, you may remember the old Burma Shave signs that would line a roadway to promote that product a few words at a time.
Now the American Lung Association’s Upper Midwest Clear Air Choice Team is putting up similar signage in Wisconsin to promote more use of the ethanol fuel blend E-85.
Tom Thieding with the Wisconsin Corn Growers Association says the growth of the fuel’s use will help the state’s economy.
“About 40 percent of the corn grown in the state is made into ethanol by the nine ethanol plants in the state of Wisconsin. They make over 500 million gallons of ethanol.”
Thieding adds it was a no-brainer to join up with the Clear Air Choice Team, given that ethanol also produces less emissions compared to regular fuels used now
