SHEBOYGAN, WI (WHBL) - A Wisconsin Dells man will serve six months in jail for his fifth OWI offense.
Sheboygan County Judge James Bolgert sentenced 40 year old Ruben Hernandez this week which also includes having his driver’s license revoked for three years, and the requirement to use an ignition interlock for three years. Hernandez pleaded no contest to the OWI offense.
Hernandez was arrested back in May after a Sheboygan County Sheriff’s deputy found him asleep behind the wheel on Orchard Road in the Town of Mosel, and he failed field sobriety tests.
Hernandez’s past OWI convictions occurred in 1996, with two offenses that year, 1999 and 2004.
Judge Bolgert allowed Hernandez to serve his jail time in Sauk County. If he fails to fulfill his jail sentence, he could serve six more months in jail and three years probation.
