SHEBOYGAN, Wis. (WHBL) - The family of a man shot and killed nearly a year ago at Sheboygan’s south side Wal-Mart wants the man who killed him to pay the funeral expenses. During a hearing in Sheboygan County Court Monday morning, the family of Pheng Lee submitted bills for the three-and -a-half-day Hmong funeral totaling nearly $37,000. 21 year old Kou Yang is currently serving an 18 year prison term for the shooting. Judge L. Edward Stengel adjourned the hearing without making a ruling, saying the court needs more information on what costs would be reasonable in a traditional Hmong funeral. The hearing is scheduled to continue on Friday. Members of the victim’s family testified during the hearing that the funeral lasted three-and-a-half-days and was attended by 500 people - many from out of town. The bills included $17,000 for the three days from the Ballhorn Funeral Chapel and $6,400 for the butchering of 7 cows and 5 pigs used to feed those who attended.
