SHEBOYGAN, WI (WHBL) - The shooting incident in Chattanooga this week has some questioning if one of the locations targeted is prepared for such an incident.
One site that was targeted was an armed forces recruitment center, one similar to what you find on South Business Drive in Sheboygan.
Kelli Bland, public affairs officer for the U.S. Army Recruiting Command, tells WHBL News all recruiters are trained to handle a variety of situations, including active shooter and anti-terrorism. "They are trained to know what to do, what to look for, what things might be suspicious, what they need to report, and most importantly how to react in any of those situations."
Bland says recruiters did follow their training when the Chattanooga incident occurred.
She adds any possible changes at recruitment centers regarding security or policies will be decided once a review of the recent shooting is complete.
