SHEBOYGAN, WI (WHBL) - Demolition continues on the old skateboard park at Sheboygan’s Kiwanis Park.
Mayor Mike Vandersteen tells WHBL News efforts are underway to replace it, thanks to action by the Common Council earlier this month. "We set up an account basically to receive funds, so we can start to do some fundraising to replace that skateboard amenity."
Vandersteen adds work is being done on what the new park will look like, but it will be up to date. "The one that we had was (a) real old concept, and so we’re hoping to update that, as well as get on back in as soon as possible."
Once that and determining the cost for a new park is complete, the city will work on raising funds.
There is no set date for having the skateboard park completed.
