SHEBOYGAN, WI (WHBL) - Court proceedings for a Sheboygan man charged for allegedly burglarizing a home has been put on hold.
Sheboygan County Circuit Court Judge James Bolgert ruled last week 43 year old Chou Yang is not competent to faces charges of burglary and criminal damage to property. Yang’s attorney had asked for a mental evaluation last month based on her interviews with him, citing he once spoke gibberish. Yang will receive treatment, and future court dates will be scheduled to find out if he has improved enough, mentally, to face his alleged crime.
Yang is accused of entering a home on the 300 block of Erie Avenue June 8th to try to steal jewelry. He was caught by Sheboygan Police after a caretaker found him and forced him to flee the house.
