MADISON, WI (WHBL) - Two teachers in the Sheboygan Area School District have recently completed financial literacy training.  Matt Raatz and Liz Sprinkman each attended the National Institute of Financial and Economic Literacy training at Edgewood College in Madison this past week.

The week-long session, entitled “Paychecks, Financial Contracts & Entrepreneurship Week” focused on educating teachers with the tools necessary to teach students about a wide range of topics.  These include financial transactions, taxes and employee benefits, and entrepreneurship.

The training is part of an effort by the Wisconsin Department of Financial Institutions’ Office of Financial Literacy to help prepare economic teachers with the skills needed to teach kids properly.  Since starting training sessions in 2001, over 800 educations have taken part.
