SHEBOYGAN COUNTY, WI (WHBL) - The Fourth of July is upon us, and that means plenty of activities across Sheboygan County in several communities.
The busiest place will be Sheboygan, with a wide variety of events planned following the parade in the downtown area. In addition to the parade and a Freedom Run at the YMCA, activities include the King of the Beach Volleyball Tournament starting at 9 a.m., the South Pier Carnival starting at 11 a.m., the Art Armada Cardboard Boat Races at Rotary Park at noon, the Big Bang Celebration at Deland Park starting at noon, and Performance in the Park by Sheboygan Theater Company at Fountain Park at 4 p.m.
All the activities conclude with the Festival Fireworks at 9:30 p.m. with the launch taking place from South Pier.
Other festivities are planned in two other county communities.
Kohler will have its annual events at Ravine Park, including a picnic at 6, a Sousa Concert at 8, and fireworks at 9:15.
Also celebrating is Elkhart Lake, which will include the Farmers and Artisans Market and live music across the village throughout the day.
If are interested in a more historical celebration, the Wade House will be holding two readings of the Declaration of Independence at their Greenbush site. Costumed staff at the state historical site will read the document that gave our county its independence at 1:15 and 3:15.
