PLYMOUTH, WI (WHBL) - Sargento is receiving state tax credits for its expansion of two facilities. The Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation announced Thursday it will give the Plymouth-based cheese maker up to $735,000 depending on how many of the 140 projected new jobs are actually created by 2018.
Sargento plans to spend 30-million dollars on its production facility in Kiel, where most of the new jobs will be created, and its technical center in Elkhart Lake.
The Kiel facility would be expanded by 80-thousand square feet for production and storage use, plus a health and wellness center for employees.
A 50-thousand square foot expansion would occur at the Elkhart Lake facility, more than doubling the current space, and be used for engineering, research, and product development operations.
