SHEBOYGAN, WI (WHBL) - A Sheboygan man faces burglary charge for trying to steal items from a Sheboygan home. 42 year old Chou Yang was charged Tuesday with burglary and criminal damage to property for allegedly entering a home on the 300 block of Erie Avenue Monday to steal jewelry.
The criminal complaint states home surveillance video shows Yang using a rock to break glass in a door to gain entry to the home. About 15 minutes later a caretaker for the home arrived, forcing Yang to flee. He was chased by the caretaker for about a block on Broughton Drive and St. Clair Avenue until a Sheboygan Police officer caught him.
An investigation found 11 pieces of jewelry were taken from the home and found in a bush near where Yang fled the home.
Yang made his initial court appearance Tuesday, and had a one thousand dollar cash bond set. He faces over 15 years in prison if found guilty.
