SHEBOYGAN, WI (WHBL) - The Sheboygan Area School District held their annual recognition time during Tuesday's Board of Education meeting. A dozen teachers, staff and volunteers were named the best in the district for the 2014-15 school year.
One of those winners was JoAnn Lichucki, an eighth grade language arts teacher at Urban Middle School who was named Middle School Teacher of the Year. "I’m just in awe," says Lichucki. "I work hard so it’s nice to be acknowledged, but I don’t do it for that purpose. I don’t know if you saw the kids that were in the background cheering. I do it for them, so it’s great."
The district also took time to recognize students who received state and national honors in extra curriculars and academics.
