SHEBOYGAN, WI (WHBL) - A Cascade woman will find out her sentence next month for abandoning a dog and letting it die.
40 year old Kimberly Fidlin reached a plea deal with Sheboygan County prosecutors this week for the six charges she faced. She pleaded no contest to intentionally abandoning an animal, intentionally failing to provide food for an animal, and not providing proper shelter for an animal. Judge Terence Bourke found her guilty, and had other similar charges including intentional mistreatment of animals dismissed.
Fidlin was charged back in February of 2014 when a mortgage company found an eight-year-old beagle-mix dead in a home she had owned but was being foreclosed on. Fidlin told investigators she could not afford veterinary care for the dog.
A sentencing date has been scheduled for June 4. She faces up to five years in prison.
