SHEBOYGAN, WI (WHBL) - Call her the baby formula bandit. 26 year old Jessica Saunders is facing six retail theft charges, one felony and five misdemeanors, for her alleged actions at Sheboygan County supermarkets over the past month.
According to criminal complaints filed this past week in Sheboygan County Court, the Sheboygan County Sheriff’s Department arrested the Plymouth woman April 25. Saunders was identified as the person who performed three similar theft incidents at Wal-Marts in Sheboygan and Plymouth March 31, April 2, and April 25.
In all three incidents the suspect went into the store with canvas bags, put 18 cans of baby formula in the bags, and then left the store with the bags without paying for the formula. The suspect would be dropped off and picked up by the same blue mini-van.
After her arrest, three other stores in Sheboygan County came forward with similar theft incidents. The suspect in all three was identified as Saunders based on surveillance video matching Saunders’ booking photo.
-On April 10, Saunders was seen on video taking 18 cans of formula from Blattner’s Piggly Wiggly in Sheboygan Falls.
-On April 21, Saunders was seen on video taking 22 cans of formula at the Plymouth Pick ‘N Save.
-On April 23, Saunders was seen on video taking approximately 28 cans of formula at the Pick ‘N Save on North 25th Street in Sheboygan.
Online court records show Saunders has pleaded not guilty to three of the charges, and is scheduled to have a jury trial on July 8. For the other three charges, she is scheduled to have a preliminary hearing on May 6.
